A workshop was held (March 13) to discuss consequences of biological invasion to aboveground/belowground interactions and feedbacks to ecosystem function. The purpose of the workshop was ambitiously intended to synthesize to what appears to be a literature of idiosyncratic results of belowground responses to invasive species. Based on the workshop a manuscript proposing a framework placing soil feedbacks in the context of biological invasions from different trophic groups is being drafted. This manuscript is intended to provide structure to understanding belowground feedbacks to invasive species, and suggest where more knowledge is needed
